“I’ve never been publicly acknowledged for doing anything “artsy” before… I must thank you and my Ignite the Spark group for encouraging me to come out of my comfort zone and explore my creative side.”
Have you ever been stuck in your comfort zone?
Kathryn had gotten used to keeping her creativity inside, never sharing her art for fear of being rejected.
I was recently caught off guard by an email newsletter from Muse Art and Design. I know it’s not a “big thing” having my little bird house – that I painted for their auction – highlighted in their newsletter, but it’s so … surreal … in the most positive way.
I’ve never been publicly acknowledged for doing anything “artsy” before (due to fear of being rejected.) I took a huge chance by painting what I felt inside rather than being influenced by what I thought was expected for a birdhouse. I simply allowed my creativity to “come out” on the project.
Then, the owner of the store emailed me and said mine was very good and the most interesting one they have on display! I was so shocked by his critique as he is a trained artist and see’s art every day! His compliment made me smile … for days. Actually, I saved the message, so I can re-read it at will and it still makes me smile. I must thank you and my Ignite the Spark group for encouraging me to come out of my comfort zone, stop staying stuck, and to explore my creative side. I love it! Now, I do something creative every day. Please use my story in hopes of helping someone else get “un-stuck”.
