Marty’s Story

I had the good fortune to be selected to participate in The Standard’s Accelerated Leadership Program. As impressed as I was with the curriculum, I felt it could benefit from the addition of an experience that would establish a strong sense of trust within the group. My 4-person leadership team chose to participate in Ignite the Spark as a pilot program for that purpose.

We all had a very positive experience. As a result, two of us moved into new positions within the company where we could contribute even more. It was easy to see the alignment with the success patterns we uncovered in the Ignition series. Our experience encouraged the company to offer the Ignition series as a development opportunity to the rest of the Accelerated Leadership Program.

How does the Ignition series benefit The Standard? The simple answer is the employee who has really found their niche is going to be more effective and motivated. The big thing around here is to get the right person in the right seat. That means people need to be able to identify what’s right and go after it. So, being clear on what you bring to the table and where and how you might be able to contribute even more is a big part of what heartspark helps with.

How have I changed? My priorities are clearer. I’m more integrated. There’s less contradiction between who I am and what I do. If it gets any better than that, I’d like to know about it.
